Where Scraplytics is not the right fit
Scraplytics is not right for every operation, and the fastest way to waste your time is to find that out in week three. Here is where we are a poor choice, and what to look at instead.
You need automatic weight capture on day one and cannot install anything locally
Scraplytics is cloud software. It cannot open a serial port in your scale house by itself. Operators can key gross and tare into a tablet immediately, and automatic capture is a per-site integration against our reading-ingest API. If keyed entry is unacceptable to you and you cannot run a small local agent, we are not the answer today.
Look at instead: A locally installed scale-house package with a bundled indicator driver.
You are a one-person operation doing under ten tickets a week
At that volume a notebook and a spreadsheet genuinely work, and $100 a month is real money against your margin. The software starts paying for itself when the paperwork costs you more than the subscription does.

You need deep manufacturing MRP
Scraplytics models buy, process and sell for recycling operations. If you need multi-level bills of materials, shop-floor routing, machine capacity planning or production scheduling, you want a manufacturing ERP with a scrap module rather than a scrap platform with a processing module.
Look at instead: A manufacturing ERP such as SAP Business One or Odoo Manufacturing.
You need on-premise hosting for policy reasons
We do not offer a self-hosted deployment. Country-level data residency is available on Enterprise, but running Scraplytics entirely inside your own network is not something we support.

You want a system nobody has to learn
Any system that produces a defensible audit trail requires operators to record things they currently do not: a deduction reason, a seller ID, a tare weight against a specific vehicle. We have made that as fast as we can. We have not made it zero, and any vendor telling you otherwise is describing a system that will not survive an inspection.
Look at instead: Nothing. This trade-off exists in every compliant system.
Where Scraplytics is a good fit
A yard buying from suppliers on a weighbridge, that needs the purchase record to survive an audit, wants inventory valued as it weighs, and would rather not run three systems that disagree with each other. If that is you, the product tour is the fastest way to see whether it holds up.
